Creating a Safe Nursery

It's Baby Safety Month! Our next topic is Nursery Safety: What are some things to keep in mind when creating your baby's sweet little spot?

1. Use Non-Toxic Paints and Materials:

Painting the nursery the perfect color is such a fun part of the process. Opt for non-toxic, low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint to minimize air pollution. Choose furniture and decor made from safe, non-toxic materials to prevent off-gassing of harmful chemicals.

2. Electrical Safety:

Cover electrical outlets with childproof plugs or outlet covers. Use cord holders or wind up excess cords to keep them out of your baby's reach.

3. Avoid Overcrowding:

While it's tempting to fill the nursery with cute decorations and toys, avoid overcrowding the space. An uncluttered room is not only safer but also more soothing for your baby.

4. Crib Safety:

Your baby's crib should meet current safety standards, with no drop-down sides. Ensure the mattress fits snugly, leaving no gaps between the mattress and crib walls. Remove pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals from the crib to reduce the risk of suffocation.

5. Add a zooby Baby Monitor!

Keep an eye on your precious new little one with an adorable plush camera like Finley Fox or Bailey Bunny. ❤️

Make sure you regularly insect the room and make changes as baby grows. Have the best time creating your nursery!
